Repashy SuperPig is a Carotenoid Supplement designed to enhance the diet and colors of Reptiles, Fish, Amphibians and Birds.
What are Carotenoids
Carotenoids are mainly yellow, orange, or red fat-soluble pigments that are responsible for the bright colors of many plants. These same pigments can also flow upstream into animal life and are responsible for some of the most brilliantly colored animals on the planet. By supplementing carotenoids into your pets diet, may help enhance some of those colors.
The ingredients in this product provide a substantial source of carotenoids including, but not limited to: Astaxanthin, Capsanthin, Capsorubin, Beta-Carotene, Alpha Carotene, Beta Cryptoxanthin, Zeaxanthin, Neoaxanthin, Cucurbitaxanthin, Violaxanthin, Lutein, Echineone, Canthaxanthin and Lycopene.
How to use Repashy SuperPig
It is recommended to supplement Repashy SuperPig Carotenoid enhancer into your pets food at every 7-10 days.
Amphibian and reptile owners may dust or even gut load feeder insects.
Dart frog keepers that produce their own flightless fruit flies may include a small amounts in fruit fly media, as the carotenoids will carry through the metamorphosis stage. However, dusting the flies is far more effective.
For herbivore reptiles and birds, it is recommended to dust over greens and seeds.
For Geckos that feed on a prepared paste diet, you can mix in approximately 4% (by dry weight) into the paste when you make it.
Our favorite method for live prey insects such as fruit flies or crickets, is to dust the insects before feeding them to our animals.
We use a “shake and bake” method by placing a small amount of Repashy SuperPig into a deli cup, then adding some flies. We shake and swirl the container until the flies are fully coated, then feed them to our frogs and reptiles. Avoid dumping excess dust onto plants or into the enclosure. any remaining dust should not be put back into the original container as this may contaminate it.
If you feel you need to make the powder even finer, you may also a small blender (bullet blender work great) to make it even finer to help it stick better to feeder insects.
Once opened, you can extend its life by keeping it refrigerated between use.
