Walachi Pods

Walachi pods AKA Wallichii Pods AKA Star pods are a great decorative addition to any naturalistic or bioactive terrarium no mater what you call them! They are also used in aquariums as decor, and for their beneficial tannins.

Walachi pods are the seed pods of the Schima wallichii tree

 

Using Walachi Pods in an aquarium:

We recommend adding 5-6 pods per every 10 gallons. These pods will change the tint of your water, adding less over a longer period will allow you to better gauge your intended effect. The pods will expand in the water and leach out all their tannins in about a month. Simply add a few more pods to maintain the water quality as desired.

It is good practice to add the pods to boiling water prior to introducing them into your terrarium or aquarium as this will remove any excess natural debris.

 

Each pod is approximately 1-2 cm or under 1″. Due to the nature of this product there will be natural variation in size and color of each pod.
