Our Jungle Background Mix is the ideal loose substrate to use when creating your very own custom naturalistic vivarium or terrarium background.
We make our Jungle Background Mix using organic, natural and sustainable materials. This blend is designed to help maintain humidity in your vivarium, which will help promote the healthy growth of mosses and other epiphytic plants. With a bit of luck and if you provide enough light and moisture you may even see spontaneous growth of mosses or even some mushrooms.
Our Jungle Background Mix is safe to use with most amphibians, reptiles, arachnids, insects and other vivarium or terrarium inhabitants.
Use our Jungle Background Mix with our Vivarium Safe Silicone and our Pond Spray Foam to create your very own 3D Jungle Vivarium.
How To Use Our Jungle Background Mix to Create Your Very Own Custom Terrarium
Make sure the mix is completely dry – Bake for 15-20 minutes at 200F to dry if required
Once you have put a layer of aquarium safe silicone on your custom background, spread on a thick layer of the Background Mix.
Firmly press in the media into the silicone (wearing gloves) and allow the silicone to cure
Allow the silicone to cure for 12-24 hours before lightly brushing off excess media.
Apply more in areas you may have missed.
Repeat these steps for each side of a tank you wish to cover.
Package contains 4 liters, which will cover approx 3 sides of an 18x18x24″ terrarium (or similar area) with extra left over
