With social distancing and self-isolation becoming the norm, more people are switching to online ordering. So to help everyone out, we have reduced the cost of shipping on everything available at our website. PLUS we are also offering a $15 coupon for ALL orders $100 or more (excluding taxes and shipping). This will help further ease the cost of shipping during these unprecedented times. For many people this is actually free shipping or even a bit more, depending on your location and shipping method selected. During the Covid-19 outbreak in Canada, shipping companies are considered essential services, so they won’t be forced to shut their doors. HOWEVER they are operating at a reduced capacity and we are seeing delays with shipments through all carriers. This should have little impact for almost everything we ship other than a slight delay. We are currently still shipping live good such as Fruit Flies, Springtails, Isopods and live plants, albeit very cautiously. (Subject to sudden change as events unfold) Canada post has removed their timely delivery guarantee, as such we can’t guarantee our packages to be delivered on time or even safely. We will do everything we can to make the packages secure by using longer lasting heat packs went necessary. However heat packs do have their limitations, if they expire during any transport delays, then package is subject to the elements. We help further reduce that risk by selecting “Card for Pickup”. This will hold the package safely at the nearest post office until you can pick it up. (Please practice safe social distance protocols when going to the post office) Rural clients may be impacted further by this as Canada Post may further reduce drivers and increase delivery delay time. We caution our rural clients even more about ordering live goods during the Covid-19 outbreak. For all live shipments please select a shipping option that is within 1-3 days. Selecting options that are less than what a heat pack can normally operate within, may result in further delays. We do charge a winterizing fee from the end of October-April(ish) to cover the cost of heat packs, insulation and the up-charge in shipping costs due to having to use larger boxes.
Shipping of our frogs has also been affected by Covid-19. We are still currently shipping frogs however that could change at any moment. We are currently using Reptile Express and are following their updates, regarding shipping times and delays. Unfortunately we are unable to offer any live arrival guarantees on any frogs, feeders or plant shipments at this time. If you’re able to hold out until things get better we will be sure to have your order filled at that time. If you wish to order or pre-order anything, please send us an email to request our current frog and/or plant availability list. We are currently playing this moment by moment as global events surrounding Covid-19 unfold.
We have also incorporated a few adjustments for Calgary local pick up to keep everyone safe. During the Covid-19 outbreak we encourage you to stay home and if you have to go out, please practice social distancing. We ask that you utilize our reduced cost shipping options and coupon codes for this purpose. However we understand that many local Calgary residents have come to depend on our live feeders to feed their frogs. During this time we are not permitting anyone to come into our home, HOWEVER we will still meet you at our front door. We would prefer that your orders are prepaid or we can accept all cards. Please refrain from using cash at this time as the virus can remain on paper for some time. You can place a pre-order on our website, by emailing us, or by contacting us via Facebook messenger. Our website will charge a winterizing fee for all live good while it’s still cold out, so please email or Facebook message for your live goods pre-orders.
Unfortunately many of the Canadian reptile expos for the spring 2020 season have been canceled due to Covid-19 concerns. Please help support your local reptile and amphibian breeders, as these events are a major source of income to help feed their animals and their hobby.
