Hemp Bedding is excelent for use in back yard Chicken Coops. It is also a great bottom substrate for Parrots, Parakeets, Budgies, Finches and many other birds.

 

Why is Hemp bedding better than Aspen Wood Shavings?

 

Absorbent

Hemp has three times the absorbency of wood shavings. It maintains a dry and comfortable environment and reduces the risk of moisture related health issues.

Hemp naturally has the ability to wick away moisture, it therefore dries out faster than wood shaving and paper bedding.

Less Irritating to Animals

Hemp Hurd is the woody interior core of industrial hemp (not the smoking kind). It is not as sharp or irritating as other wood shaving beddings. Meaning you’ll have less issues with irritated Eyes, Scales, Vents and Cloaca.

Low Dust

99% dust free, promoting better air quality and reducing respiratory problems for animals.

Neutral pH

Unlike wood shavings that are acidic, hemp bedding has a pH range of 7 – 8.5.
